John Wesley Lowery is Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Higher Education and Student Affairs Program in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policies at the University of South Carolina.

Lowery earned his doctorate at Bowling Green State University in Higher Education Administration. He previously held administrative positions at Adrian College and Washington University. John is actively involved in numerous professional associations including ACPA, ASJE, ASJA, NASPA, SACSA, and SCCPA. John has a Masters degree in student personnel services from the University of South Carolina and an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in Religious Studies.

John is a frequent speaker and author on topics related to student affairs and higher education, particularly legislative issues and judicial affairs on which he is widely regarded as an expert.
