KANDACE HINTON is an Assistant Professor in the Educational Leadership, Administration, and Foundation Department's Higher Education Leadership Program. She holds a master's and Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University-Bloomington and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi.
Dr. Hinton's research interests include studying the experiences of African American people in higher education, multicultural identity development, and institutional support of community based programs. She has published, most recently in the 2004 New Directions for Student Services Monographs entitled, Meeting the Needs of African American Women in Higher Education and Using The Entertainment Media To Facilitate Student Learning: Music, Movies, TV, & Popular Press Books In Student Affairs Classrooms And Practice.
